This is an important one, folks. As the new* emojis inevitably put tacos, hot dogs, burritos, cheese wedges, popcorn and “bottle with popping cork” on your mind more often, we figure you’ll need to know how best to pair them. Specifically, which DRY Sparkling flavors are their ideal complements. So here we go:
TACO: Upon close inspection, we believe this is the standard American-style ground beef taco, complete with shredded lettuce, tomato, and a medium cheddar cheese, all wrapped in a fried corn tortilla shell. The complexity of The Taco allows for a few pairing options, but we’ve narrowed it down to two favorites.
We suggest:
Rainier Cherry DRY or
Blood Orange DRY
HOT DOG: Dog, mustard, relish, fluffy ‘lil bun… mission accomplished. Although it’s debatable that it could have
used some ketchup for a sweet kick, we still find The Hotdog digitally delicious.
We suggest:
Vanilla Bean DRY or
Cucumber DRY
CHEESE: Oh beautiful cheese! We are so happy to welcome you into the emoji world. It appears you are Swiss or Emmental and delicious either way. A few slices of The Cheese and some high quality crackers and we’ll have a world class snack on our hands.
We suggest:
Lavender DRY or
Vanilla Bean DRY
BURRITO: As a wise man once said, “it is what’s inside the burrito that counts.” For the sake of pairing, we’ll have to make some assumptions. We’d like to believe The Burrito is actually modeled after the #1 burrito on The Daily Meal’s “ America’s Best 20 Burritos” list, the Carne Asada Burrito from Papalote Mexican Grill.
We suggest:
Rhubarb DRY or
Juniper Berry DRY
POPCORN: Movie theater container? Check. Movie theater levels of salted butter? We hope so, as long as it’s real butter! You’ll have to go elsewhere for a movie pairing for The Popcorn, as that goes beyond our expertise.
We suggest:
Lavender DRY or
Rainier Cherry DRY
CHAMPAGNE: Easy! Mix your favorite DRY flavor with your bubbles and a splash of Lillet, then garnish with lemon peel. You’ve got yourself a DRY No Champagne, No Gain cocktail. Throw in a few berries or some pomegranate seeds if you’re feeling extra festive… or some vodka if it’s been that kind of day.
Ok, now that your most important pairing questions of 2015 are answered, you can rest easy. Enjoy your weekend, your new emojis and your DRY.
Cheers!
